Flashing custom ROMs.

HOW TO FLASH ANY CUSTOM ROM TO SGY.

  • REQUIREMENTS:
                Rooted phone.(If you don't know what is root or to root your SGY visit here ROOT )
                 CWM recovery.( CWM.ZIP here)

                 ROM's zip file.

                 SDCARD with a minimum space of about 1 GB.

                 Fully charged battery.

  • PROCEDURE:
  1.      Keep the cwm.zip, rom's zip files in the root of the sdcard(not within any folder).
  2.      Turn off the phone and boot into recovery by pressing volume up+power+home buttons, from the stock recovery select 'apply update from sdcard' and select the cwm.zip.
  3.     From cwm recovery select 'mounts and storage', then mount all. 
      

  4.     Go back and wipe 'data' and cache'.( press power button to go back)
  5.     From recovery select 'advanced' then wipe 'dalvik cache'  ( if you don't wipe dalvik cache you cannot install new apps in your new rom), wipe 'battery stats' and then select 'fix permissions' 
  6.     Go back to 'mounts and storage' and format 'system', format 'cache', format 'data', DO NOT FORMAT SDCARD.
  7.     Again go to 'mounts and storage' and mount all.
  8.     Back to recovery and select 'install zip from sdcard' then 'choose zip from sdcard' and select the rom's zip.
  9. It takes few minutes to flash the new rom, after the completion again wipe 'data' and 'cache' for reducing the possibility of bootloop.
  10. Reboot the phone, first boot takes around 5 min.
  11. Check out the new rom....!!!
